Believe it or not, listening skills are just like playing football or volleyball, which means they can be learned! We’re all guilty of not listening at one time or another and as teachers, listening to our students is a crucial step in creating a safe, respectful environment. This session uses a particular strategy that not only teaches us to listen to one another, it also helps us consider the point of view of someone with a differing opinion than our own. This session is not only useful for teachers to improve their listening skills, but it provides a successful strategy for improving the climate of respect in your classrooms.
